MEADOW or MEADOW, MEADOW = Pay attention to me. Look at me and or come with me. Yes! and PEZ dispenser when she listens.
WITH ME = We are on a walk, she gets distracted by something. I say, WITH ME. She leaves the thing of interest and comes to my side. Yes! and PEZ dispenser when she listens.
HERE PLEASE or MEADOW, HERE PLEASE = Come to me, follow me.Yes! and PEZ dispenser when she listens.
WHISTLE = If you can whistle and you need to find her fast or have her come to you right away, Whistle. Yes! and PEZ dispenser when she listens.
SITTING = Sitting means sit. She just likes the sound of SITTING better. Do this at gates, at the door, by your side, at your feet, if you need her to stop something. Yes! and PEZ dispenser when she listens.
LET’S GO! = Say LET’S GO! to release from SITTING. This is how she knows it’s ok to go out a door or to leave her gated area or to leave her crate. Say, Yes! When she listens. She does not need a PEZ dispenser for this. It is rewarding enough to get to go.
CRATE TIME = During the day, if you can not have her in the area of the house walking around with you safely or if she is just too tired to walk around with you in an open area in the house, Meadow can go in her Crate or in her gated area/PUPPY ZONE. If you want her to go in her crate, stand next to the gate and say, CRATE TIME. To let her out of the crate, say, YOU’RE FREE. If she doesn’t seem to get it, say Let’s Go!
TAKE IT = You need to leave the thing you have. Drop that thing and take this. TAKE IT, Yes! And PEZ dispenser when she listens. Then you can remove the thing you want her to drop.
GO POTTY = Take her to the POTTY AREA often. At least every hour, if she is awake. Set an alarm when she goes potty, so that you will know when the hour is up. She should GO POTTY when she wakes up, when she eats, when she is finished playing. When you take her to GO POTTY, bring her to the POTTY AREA. Say, GO POTTY. GO POTTY OUTSIDE. When she goes say, Yes! Go Potty! Yes! Go Potty Outside! She does not need a PEZ dispenser for this. It is rewarding enough to get to go.
OUTSIDE = Meadow is learning the word OUTSIDE. Say, Let’s Go OUTSIDE. Go Potty, Go Potty OUTSIDE.
IT’S OK = If she hears something or sees something that worries her, we say, IT’S OK. This lets her know that whatever it was is nothing to worry about and she goes on with her day.
Feeding = Meadow gets 3 x ½ Cup of food per day. Her meals are mixed with water. She can be fed anywhere as long as Gracie can not see Meadow being fed. The 3 x 1/2 Cups are divided the night before into containers. Two blue containers and one treat bag. ⅓ of a container is used for a meal. She has Meals at 6AM after she wakes up and goes potty outside, 12PM and 6PM. The other ⅔ of a container is used for treats/training for the in-between times.

Other Things About Meadow = She sleeps in her crate next to the bed. She wakes up around 6 AM and needs to go potty outside right away. Potty in the morning is an emergency. She poops twice in the morning. She needs to go to sleep when she is biting. She is not bad. She is tired. Well, she is probably tired. She can also be bored and needs a change of scene. Usually, this is a good time lesson (Take It usually works) or for a gated area/PUPPY ZONE and a Bully Stick. She LOVES Bully Sticks. She also seems to calm down when you take a shower and she lays on a towel in the bathroom. She will do anything for fruit. If you want her to do something or stay somewhere, put fruit in a toy (Licky pad, Peanut thing, Orange thing, Red Kong) and she will be entertained. If are really in trouble and you need to get her to go somewhere or do something and nothing else works, she is crazy about peanut butter. Try the fruit first but if that doesn’t work add peanut butter to the fruit. She will go crazy for it. It only takes a little bit. She likes her belly rubbed and she likes to be rocked in a rocking chair. There is a rocking chair in my room, in the living room and outside. Meadow is going to have accidents. She is not perfectly potty trained. She needs to go out often. She’s not bad. She is learning. She likes to walk up and down the driveway, but you need to use WITH ME and HERE PLEASE to keep her with you. If she does not listen, pick her up and go back home. She likes to go places in her stroller. She likes to go for walks in the neighborhood in her stroller. If she bites her stroller, stop walking and stay still. Maybe say, Meadow. When she stops, say, Yes! And keep going. If she keeps biting and you are going crazy, stopping so often, try putting 10-20 kibble in the stroller or some fruit or tiny piece of string cheese. If she still keeps biting. Go home, she is tired. If she is in her stroller or her crate in the car and she needs to potty, she will whine. That means I have to go potty now. If you must let her paws in the real world, put on her leash (it’s in the stroller pocket), take her out and say, Go Potty. She does not need a PEZ dispenser for this. It is rewarding enough to get to go. WIPE HER PAWS WITH A PET WIPE. The wipes are in the back pocket of the stroller. Make sure to offer her water often.
