Our Ladies

MEET MEADOW: Meadow is smart, eager to please and gorgeous! She is a beautiful English Cream Golden Retriever puppy. To us, she is perfect in every way. Meadow has been carefully selected to join the Cedar Rock Golden Retrievers breeding program for her exceptional pedigree and promising hereditary traits inherited from her parents. As Meadow matures, we will be following responsible breeding guidelines essential for producing healthy, well-balanced Golden Retriever puppies that will bring joy to the families they match with.

As she passes these benchmarks we will be updating this page to keep you in loop. Cedar Rock’s ultimate goal is that Meadow’s future puppies will be healthy and will embody the intelligence, friendliness, and calm nature that make Golden Retrievers outstanding family pets as well as exceptional candidates for therapy and service work—dogs capable of bringing comfort, companionship, and support to those who need them most.

Essential Golden Retriever DNA Tests Results (EMBARK)

  • Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA-PRCD, GR-PRA1, & GR-PRA2): CLEAR
  • Congenital Ichthyosis (ICH1 & ICH2): Ichthyosis ICH1 (PNPLA1): CARRIER Ichthyosis ICH1 2 (ABHD5): CLEAR. One copy inherited. DNA tests of potential breeding males will be required to avoid matching two carriers, which risks producing affected puppies. Breeding Rules & Recommendations: Clear x Clear: Produces 100% Clear puppies. Highly recommended; ideal for eliminating the disease from lines. Clear x Carrier: Produces roughly 50% Clear and 50% Carrier puppies. This pairing is considered safe, as no puppies will develop symptoms of Ichthyosis.
  • Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome (CMS): CLEAR
  • Degenerative Myelopathy, DM (SOD1A): CLEAR
  • Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (COL7A1): CLEAR
  • Muscular Dystrophy (DMD): CLEAR
  • Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 5 NCL 5 (CLN5 Exon 4 Deletion): CLEAR
  • Osteogenesis Imperfecta (COL1A1): CLEAR
  • Retina Dysplasia and/or Optic Nerve Hypoplasia (SIX6 Exon 1): CLEAR
