Get On Our Wait List

At Cedar Rock Golden Retrievers, we operate a highly selective and intentional breeding program rooted in health, temperament, and lifelong support. Our goal is simple: to thoughtfully match each puppy with the right forever home, where they will thrive as a cherished member of the family.

The matching process is one of the most important parts of what we do. Your responses to the following questions will help us better understand your lifestyle, expectations, and what you are hoping your new puppy will bring into your home.

Waitlist Information
We are known for our strong focus on temperament, comprehensive health testing, and responsible breeding practices. Because of this, our waitlist fills quickly. We encourage families to apply early, as availability is limited.

As an intentionally small program, our wait times can range from 6 months to 1+ years, and in some cases longer depending on pairing plans and availability.

Our Application Process
We seek responsible, prepared, and engaged homes. Our application is designed to help us get to know you—there are no “right” or “wrong” answers, and no trick questions. Honesty and transparency allow us to make the best possible match for both you and our puppies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wait Time:
Our current estimated waitlist time is approximately 1–2 years.

Breeding Schedule:
Upcoming litters are planned thoughtfully and intentionally; timing may vary. Our next litter is expected in Spring 2028. If you need a puppy sooner. Email us at Cedar Rock Golden Retrievers. We partner other reputable, ethical breeders and can help you make a match sooner, if you just can not wait. 🙂

Temperament Matching:
We carefully evaluate each puppy from birth, tracking personality, confidence, and learning style. Around 6 weeks, puppies are formally assessed using structured evaluations, including the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test.

Based on your application, conversations, and placement order, we will identify 2–3 puppies that we believe are the best fit for your home. You will then have the opportunity to meet those puppies and participate in the final selection process.

Health Clearances:
All parent dogs undergo comprehensive health testing, including OFA or PennHIP evaluations (hips and elbows) and genetic screening. Documentation is available on our website for full transparency.

Early Training & Socialization:
Our puppies are raised with intentional early development practices, including:

  • Socialization and environmental exposure
  • Sound desensitization
  • Introduction to crate training
  • Early potty training foundations
  • Positive, age-appropriate obedience

While your puppy will have a strong start, continued training and consistent guidance in your home are essential.
